20th Sat: RSPB Breydon Water boat trip. Dry, still but dull conditions for this trip so photos are not the best, but I hope might entice you onto next trip 4th December where many thousands of birds should be seen. Tel: 01603 715191 if interested.

How many?

Great Yarmouth in the Matalan/LIDL area

Good number of Waxwings still present

Harveys Lane and Gapton Marshes. I spotted a female Sparrowhawk sitting in a tree on the far side of an adjacent field. It was still there on my return Journey, but harassed by a Magpie. They chased around and last sighting was Sparrowhawk in hot pursuit of the Magpie. Of course the magpie might have paid the ultimate price for its cheek? Also seen from Lane large flock of Goldfinches, Song Thrush, Green and Greater Spotted Woodpeckers

Gapton Marshes Snipe calls signalled a Female Hen Harrier also sighted Marsh Harrier, another Sparrowhawk male?, Kestrel and Barn Owl.

Sparrowhawk see barred tail top left and Magpie bottom right.
