Marine Life

The Playa Pesquero bay is protected by a coral reef which extends close to the shore and on calm days is clearly visible as dark areas in the sea. The coral is very delicate, easily destroyed and it was sad to see even snorkellers probably through ignorance, trampling on these delicate areas which are rapidly degrading. However at present it is a very accessible safe place to snorkel with a great variety of fish and other marine life to study. I only had two attempts at digital underwater photography during my stay so the pictures below only give a taster of what can be seen
